Algerian-Spanish talks dealing with bilateral relations and common issues



The Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chakib Rachid Kayed, chaired today, Tuesday, via video conference, with Cristina Gallach Figueras, Spanish Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Latin America and the Caribbean, the regular meeting of the Algerian-Spanish political consultations.

A statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting was an opportunity for both sides to review the overall bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in view of the political reforms initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The two sides agreed to hold the eighth session of the high-level Algerian-Spanish meeting before the end of this year, to send a strong political signal to the economic dealers in the two countries to engage with utmost determination in deepening business and partnership relations between the two countries in light of the important legislative and regulatory changes that have taken place in Algeria.

According to the statement, international and regional political issues of common concern were on the agenda of discussions between officials, especially the situation in Western Sahara, the situation in Libya, the Sahel, the Middle East, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, as well as the problems of illegal immigration, combating terrorism and climate change, international and regional coordination and solidarity in dealing with Coronavirus crisis.
