Trump hints that his daughter-in-law will run for American Senators during a dog rescue campaign

Former US President Donald Trump appeared on Friday in a campaign to raise funds to save dogs that his daughter-in-law Lara Trump was hosting at the former president's Maralago Club.

Trump gave an impromptu speech during the event, which was aimed at raising $ 500,000 to bring 500 dogs to the United States, the group's founder and president told NBC.

Wearing a red hat with the slogan "Let's Make America Great Again," said Trump during his speech: "I'm 100 percent with you. We've had many meetings in the White House and Oval Office on rescue and assistance dogs!"

According to the report, besides talking about dogs, Trump hinted on stage about the possibility of Lara Trump running for the Senate.

Lara Trump is said to have considered an attempt to replace retired Senator Richard Burr (R) in North Carolina in 2022, although she has not made any official announcement.

Trump told the audience, "I don't know, you're running for the Senate. I've heard she's running for the Senate," referring to his daughter-in-law, Lara.

Former US President Donald Trump plans to play an active role in the 2022 midterm elections and has already thrown his support behind a number of Republicans, including some Republican lawmakers who criticized him after the Capitol riots on January 6.
