$8.5 billion decline in Egypt’s imports during the period from 2015 to 2020


- Total Egyptian merchandise exports in 2015 amounted to about $18.6 billion, which rose by the end of 2020 to reach $25.3 billion.

 

-Egyptian merchandise imports from the world witnessed a remarkable decline, reaching about $72 billion in 2015 compared to $63.5 billion in 2020.

 

 

These positive indicators contributed to fixing the imbalance in Egypt's trade balance with the countries of the world, which at the end of 2020 amounted to about $38.3 billion, compared to $53.4 billion in 2014.

 

The indicators for the first quarter of 2021 confirm the continuation of the increase in export rates by 6%.

 

- Total exports in the first 3 months of 2021 are about 7 billion and 438 million dollars, compared to about 6 billion and 990 million dollars during the same period in 2020.
