Butane imports declined to 151,000 tons in March


Government data showed that the import of butane declined significantly during the month of March, as the volume of import reached about 151 thousand tons, compared to 182 thousand tons in March 2020, a decline of about 31 thousand tons.


The data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics monitored a very slight decline in the consumption rate, as it amounted to about 336.5 thousand tons last March, while it was 336.6 thousand tons in the same month in 2020, a decrease of only 100 tons, while the volume of production reached about 142 thousand tons last March, compared to 160,000 tons in the same month in 2020, a difference of 18 thousand tons.


The domestic consumption of natural gas last March exceeded the level of 4 million tons, while the volume of consumption in March 2020 was about 3 million and 532 thousand tons, an increase of 470 thousand tons, while the local consumption of other petroleum products declined slightly in contrast. The volume of consumption reached 2 million and 289 thousand tons last March, compared to 2 million and 397 thousand tons in the same month in 2020, a decrease of 108 thousand tons.


As for domestic production of natural gas, it increased significantly last March, as the volume of production recorded about 4 million and 612 thousand tons, while it was 3 million and 559 thousand tons in March of 2020, an increase of about one million and 53 thousand tons.
