Malaysian police use drones to detect the temperature of citizens in public places

The Malaysian newspaper, The Star, reported today, Monday, that the Malaysian police are using drones to detect people with high temperatures in public places, as a precaution to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The newspaper pointed out on its website, that the drones detect the temperatures of people from a height of 20 meters above the ground and emit a red light to alert the authorities if a person has a high temperature.

Malaysia went into almost complete lockdown last week; In an attempt to stop the rise in daily infections, which reached more than 9 thousand by the end of last May.

And the Director-General of Malaysian Health, Noor Hisham Abdullah, warned that the majority of new infections and deaths were from unknown contacts.

"One of the reasons for these increases is the emergence of new variables in society that have higher rates of infection and mortality," he said, calling on people to stay at home.
