Weapons seized during security operations in Basra Governorate, Iraq

Today, Tuesday, the Iraqi Security Media Cell revealed the implementation of extensive raids and searches in several areas in Basra Governorate, located in the south of the country.

In a statement, the security cell stated that a joint force carried out raids and search operations in a number of areas in Basra Governorate, which is a haven for terrorist elements and outlaws, which resulted in the seizure of 10 Kalashnikovs, in addition to light and medium munitions, and the arrest of wanted Iraqis in the south of the country. .

The statement pointed out that "the security operations were concentrated in the areas of Al-Qurna and Al-Dair districts, in addition to the areas of Karmat Ali within the northern areas of Basra Governorate, as well as the areas of Al-Zubair district, the outskirts of Safwan, Al-Siba, Abu Al-Khasib and Umm Al-Rasas, which are considered among the southwestern areas of the Iraqi province of Basra."

This comes at a time when the Iraqi forces are tightening their security procedures and operations during this period in various parts of the country to pursue and expel the remnants of the terrorist organization Daesh and suppress terrorist operations, before the start of the parliamentary elections that are scheduled to take place on the tenth of next October.
