27.8% decrease in the value of the trade balance deficit in June 2021


Today, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued the monthly bulletin of foreign trade data June 2021, and the trade balance deficit amounted to $2.94 billion during June 2021, compared to $4.07 billion for the same month of the previous year, a decrease of 27.8%.

 

Among the most important indicators, the value of exports increased by 49.2%, reaching $3.61 billion during June 2021, compared to $2.42 billion in the same month of the previous year. This is due to the increase in the value of exports of some commodities, the most important of which are: (plastics in their primary forms by 78.0%, ready-made clothes by 54.6% Mixed pasta and food preparations 53.1%, fresh fruits 13.8%.

 

The value of exports of some commodities decreased during the month of June 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year, the most important of which is (soap and cleaning preparations by 7.0%, dairy products by 23.7%, frozen or chilled vegetables by 8.6%, perfumes and cosmetics by 29.7%).

 

The value of imports increased by 0.9%, reaching 6.55 billion dollars during the month of June 2021, compared to 6.49 billion dollars in the same month of the previous year.

 

This is due to the increase in the value of imports of some commodities, the most important of which are copper and its products by 44.4%, passenger cars by 35.7%, iron or steel raw materials by 22.4%, medicines and pharmaceutical preparations by 12.4%), while the value of some commodities’ imports decreased during the month of June 2021 compared to the same For the same month of the previous year, the most important of which are: (organic and inorganic chemicals by 6.3%, soybeans by 43.1%, meat by 32.3%, iron ores and its concentrate by 5.3%).
